If anyone kites at Sauvies Island this week, I would be interested in what the wind was like.
Thanks

Hey George, here's my take on it:
Wind was pretty offshore and gusty all night, so NW wind with quite a bit of W mixed in. It was super light (only 20m kites staying upwind) from 4-6. After that wind came up quite a bit (jumping on 13m's) from 6-8 or so, then it started it to die.
We had a strong upwind current all night, so even when you could barely plane, it was pretty easy to not to go straight downwind.
Looking at the wind sensors I think the Fremont Bridge one is most accurate:

I had a lot of fun, cheers to everyone that came out! |

Thanks for the report. I am guessing it was better tonight (Tuesday). Did anybody get out? |

Rode from 4 to around 6:30 on my 13. It was around 14-24 so pretty much on with the scappoose reading. It finally felt like the season started. Good to see everyone out again. |
