A handful of safe, clean nuclear plants will put the wind farms out of business.
And all those government subsidies (paid taxes) will be gone with the wind.

I wonder how that statistic would look if you related it to per capita energy consumption (including gas). Sorry to put cold water on it, but US of A has long way to go....and might I ad the only way out of the debt accumulation...unless the economy completely collapses which I think it will unless Obama get some support to make some pretty radical regulatory changes.

excellent idea! just now where exactly do we store that clean nuclear waste that those plants produce? how about the waste from a wind farm? oh, wait, there is no waste.
gosh, all those subsidies and tax breaks for creating something that is helping our planet. that is horrible. quick, where's my gun?

thing is, germany has less than 1/3 the population of the u.s.
now, measure wind power per person, and list texas as if it's own country. that would show you what's really going down.

I rather unplug a few appliances before building these things
in my back yard.
The gorge looked a lot better before those things started going up...

Clean and Safe
I have yet to hear of a "clean" way to mine and purify uranium and oh yeah, you have to transport that nuclear fuel to and from the power plant. Never mind the high level radiactive waste produced that takes tens of thousands of years to become safe. AND for every three units of energy produced two units are discharged to the eviornment as waste heat, in general warming our water. (Just what the enviornment needs! )
Those pesky windmills sound better all the time to me
Dont get me wrong there are benefits to Nuclear Power as well, Just dont try and say it is Safe and Clean

The same could be said about White Salmon's bluff houses and hood river's hillside. If you're gonna build em, better figure out how to power them
