Fri Feb 05, 10 7:13 am OT: Who has been to Kicking Horse in Canada? |
|
|
Want to do a family ski trip there--I think. Looking for slopeside with access to outdoor heated pool, kitchen, but I can't spend a fortune.
March 20-27 ish.
Any tips?
Thanks,

Kicking Horse is one the best places to ski/snowboard in BC. I have talked quite a few people into going there instead of wasting a huge amount of cash at Whistler. Everyone that has skied there just loves it and always returns. Ask the ski patrollers about a few ridge hikes that lead you to wide open bowls. The locals are more than happy to tour you around if you can keep up.
If you have a few extra days, Lake Louis is not far and the drive is amazing.
You and your family will have an awesome time.

Earning your turns, Stone Mtn provincial park is just down the road. Sick couloirs, massive peaks and amazing terrain make even a drive through to check out the scenery worth it.
Kicking Horse itself has a little bit of everything from steeps to glades and a few ridge chutes that'll get you puckered up real nice!!

Kicking horse has a decent mtb park in the summer. Not close to whistler but they were trying. |
