I'm trying to figure out where to head for the next few weeks. My plan would be to drive and camp. Currently have 7 and 10 m kites. Anyone have an opinion on which destination they'd recommend and what gear to bring? Thanks.

If you only have 7m and 10m kites then roll down to Baja....SPI can get some light air.

i was in los barriles in the beginning of the month and i kited on my 7 when i was there and there were people out on 9's. so i would say go with baja but maybe try la ventana because the beach at barriles was super rocky which made getting in and out of the water kinda lame.

What about Maui in Feb? Flights are oddly inexpensive.

I thought SPI was more towards April/mah..?

Right now I'd pick LV over SPI. Still chilly here in SPI and more rain than usual this season. Badly needed but hard on kiting. SPI starts to come on in late Feb then March, April and May are awesome. April and May tend toward larger kites but there are still some 8m days.
