Hoping to kite over the holidays around Schwitzer Mtn or Sandpoint, any info or links would be greatly appreciated.

Schweitzer hasn't tossed up the perfect location yet that I know of but snowmobile access goes everywhere and there is so much terrain you're bound to find something. There was actually a kite shop in Sandpoint a long time ago because of the wind on the lake.

PM CdAkiter or Donny Baker....they know that area better....and if you find something post up.

Ya good luck. This years el nino crap has brought little snowkiting thus far in North Idaho. As mentioned, a sled might get you some action around sandpoint but most upper elevations are covered in trees. Sometimes by now there is a bay that freezes over on the south side of the highway that I have seen kiters on but not yet this year. I would take advantage of Schwitzer as it is a fun hill.

Or bring your 6 mil suit, dry suit, gloves, booties, etc. I'll kite all year on the water if the snow dosn't fly. (albeit I'm the only one I've ever seen doing it though..Smile
2 hours on the water can out do a day on the mountain with the crowds, groomed runs, etc. Imo.

Schweitzer had plenty of snow and much warmer temperatures than at home, Went cat skiing on the backside and spent a day riding lifts, no kiting this trip as the rain was falling at lower elevations. May make another visit in February, see how things look then. Thanks for the help.
