I guess the snow level was low the last few storms.....guessing there is some coverage on top of the mountain.

Gonna roll up tomorrow morning with Gene O if anyone wants to come check it out.

Anyone have decent directions or forecasting for the wind? The High Praire sensor on Wind on the water looks like a good indicator for wind?

I'm thinking there might not be enough coverage for Dalles Mountain because of the rocks. But I'm gonna head up to High Prairie if there's wind. The wheat fields are real clean and don't need much coverage.

Sorry guys it's all tracked out from today session!

Just Kidding, we got there a little late after pulling the NYE all nighter in Ptown. Scotty and I rode near the micro tower and there's just barely enough snow, about 6", but doable! However, the rocks in the gullies are still really boney. Normally, I don't like to post about session out there, since it's private land. Btw, I talked to a local land owner that was skate skiing near by and they were really nice and said they've enjoyed watching snowkiters previous years and don't see a problem. Although he did say they've had some problems with motorcycler's in the summer months treading up there land. So it's in our best interest to "try not" to cut through the snow pack to minimize scaring up the area. All in all the our session was to light but it was great to get out there see if it would go. From up there it looked like Centerville to the north had good coverage and east of Dufur looked doable as well. Today would have been perfect for speed gliding.

Probably not worth the drive from PDX then......gonna roll out to the north coast instead if anyone is game

the [img] only works if it says jpg. on the end of the http address. you can also use window paint to shrink them down so they come up in the page.
