The only sure way to not damage your kite is to leave it in the bag all the time. or buy a kite made with cuben fiber....... Also, with the quantity of waroo riders something is bound to break or not relaunch at some point. How many North Rebel protos are being flown? one for every hundred waroos?
I wish I could sell all my kites and buy a north rebel!
Although, I like broadbandito's idea and would like to offer $100 for new or hardly used waroos complete. |

I gotta apologize for my remarks on this thread, not feeling well today. Couple hours at Stevenson has me feeling better though. |

Quote: | Shred Jim, I noticed this same problem with launchings and landings of the Crossbow and TD at Stevenson, so I don't think it's limited to the Waroo - must be a characteristic of SLEs if they aren't tuned perfectly, or very light wind launch. |
when in doubt, sheet out...

ps. Rufus was kicking nicely yesterday.. ~ head high swell & lit 7m Waroo... no issues with the kite... just bliss! |

I flew a 12 waroo for the first time at gusty manzanita on monday, a pink one too. Coming off the water nuked on my 11 fuel, I tried bbdto's waroo. I can see the future. It felt very strange at first but even overpowered, the waroo would depower effectively and power up immediately when I wanted it. Very floaty jumps. I would like a stopper ball so one hand sailing was easier but overall it was a positive experience.
A friend about my size was rigged on a 9 waroo and was looking very comfortable. The conditions were so gusty that jumping was ill considered most of the time but he was jumping more and just ripping.
I think one thing to consider is that more and more people are getting into kiting. Lacking brand association like many of us, these new people don't think twice about the price advantages of best; especially if bows/waroos are the kites they learned with. There are more best kites in the air AND in the water period. As far as the equipment breaking... I break shit all the time. Sometimes it is a poor design, but more often than not it's poor piloting. Use your stuff and replace it when it breaks... be glad you were'nt out to sea |

Hey I probably saw you out there on Mon. I was kiting on the north end of the beach on a 7m Waroo from ~3 to 7PM. Actually gave the kite to a friend who's just trying to stand up on a board for a while. I would never do that in conditions like that on a C kite, but with the W he managed just fine and actually got his first long ride. |

Quote: | I have flown several bows and flat kites. I haven't flown the best 9 or 7 and people say that they like them but I can tell you for a fact that the 14m doesn't re-launch for shit. PERIOD. The bridle just doesn't have the right angles on it or something. Even in adequate wind, it just doesn't pull itself up.

1) the orginal post lacked any merit and was a product of hate and thus was treated as such... let me demostrate.
Hey, I was at the gay bar yesterday and guess what, I saw "N" number of c-kites flying like shit...
A pretty worthless wasts of bits & bytes if I do say so myself as was the orginal post....
BTW all of the c-kites were flying like shit at the gay bar yesterday in the 12-30....

I've broke a few slinger bars in my day and still use them b/c they are the burelyist.
Did someone not inform you this is kitesuring and in kitesurfing "shit happens"???

Thanks for setting everyone straight JP, once again you prove to be a valuable contributor to the forum.
Just for the record everyone, if you have a best kite and its working good for you then that is cool and the gang. From what everyone says, the 9 and 12 are the bomb and they probably are. I was fully intending to buy a 9 waroo but after my experiences with the 14 I had my doubts. Its a finicky kite, and that's fine, but it does not like relaunching at all. My kites are not in the water that much, but my newbie friend has been doing soooo much swimming lately with his 14 I feel bad for him. |

Nice pics Azazello! The view from the Mountain is awesome isn't it?! Manzo's exclusive weather system is also a treat.
This thread's a dirty dog...next time start a new one with cool pics like that!
