I have to admit, I grabbed a session of pure glory out front at Seaside today. Highlights include (but not limited to)..
Torrential downpours,
60 knots blasts
Nice steady 9M wind
Fun head high reform on the inside
Epic sunset where the sun was just a big orange orb and all the foam I was riding on turned orange
Echoing cackles in my head from Troll
Broken spreader bar, hook pulled cleanly off the bar.

That's not Newport. But nice either way, I was planning on it, and was hoping that the one day of the week I HAD to work would be a windless day.... sadly this was not the case.

Pretty rainy, cold and shitty all day here, although it was windy at times. I work this time of year so I am a weekend warrior at best.
I am still jaded from Mainland Mex surf trip recently so "ice cold" just doesn't much appeal to me right now. I am spoiled and want to keep my memories fresh in my mind of warm water barrels.

I got some today. SSW 20 to 25 seas12ft plus. Got it right on the ebb it was actually pretty fun, Wind was clean I was a little underpowered on my 9 and there was a big surge so it was a little sketchy but fun skatepark like conditions on the inside.

we were not fortunate enough for newport but we scored a 2.5 hour ses at a north jetty. the wind was surprisingly steady 7 meter( could have been the incredible range of my C kite) and the A.M. marine radio voice said the swell was 20'at 430 when I was leaving... I didn't go on the outside to verify, which was a couple hundred yards past the end of the jetty.
Lots of vebal abuse from the seals and some large natural sliders.
It was a goofy footers dream day for dec or a awkward sesh of so so waves for a regular foot guy. However from 2-430 the rain parted for us..
