Sat Jun 13, 09 11:24 am Sorry to interupt BUT THE C kite DIABLO 10 |
|
|
rules
so few c kites to compare but this thing at first go
IS
fun
comes forward very well
stays back when I sheet in
has huge range was out from 230 -730 prolly 15-30 mph
fish board
no funny stuff
no pulleys
ran 5th line, was too tight ,back lines too long by 3" out of the box
a small bridle goes from leading edge to front lines for 4 lines (60 cm)
didn't try that
POWERFUL, gotta love that
didn't tried unhooked either
but with the 8" sheeting should be cake
so nice to have a kite that responds down low without
getting the snot yanked out of me
so far a great wave riding kite
with plenty of sheeting
comes forward easy
and stays back when sheeted in
dislike 5 lines but wasn't a problem (as long as I keep in the air)
the D ring for the sheeting has no nylon on it so it's Spectra to sharp bend
which is what just broke my last newer chicken string
so I will replace with some nylon web
overall very nice kite handling charateristics
solid build of course from OCEAN RODEO
feels great to be back on CCCCCCCCCCC's
I do get a deal on these kites which makes it even better |

tried out my new C kite 8.0 and 6.0
yesterday,
while not the traditional C (a supported leading edge)
the Diablo has some very nice charateristics
no funny business is the main one
good kites that fly on thier own
in any position
kinda nice for wave riding
they have the vents
just for Hein |

not tooting the horn too loudly I hope
But ,still diggin the C kite
a 10.0 C is not a very good low wind kite
would be my only bitch.
so am considering the 14.0 rise which seems to turn about as fast as my 10.0
for the light wind daze
and I don't think the bridled kites have trimming issues in larger sizes
has anyone tried the 2010 14.0 Rise? |

I've been using the rise kites for three years and cant justify getting anything bigger than a 12 in the NW. They have so much low end I really dont see a need for a 14. The rise has way more low end than the diablo. The 8 rise has as much power/ low end as the 10 diablo. I've used crazy carls 14, it's a good light wind kite and fast for its size. They have a 13 this year which would be interesting to try but I still think its a bit of overkill. |

Yeah, no shit. I had to go rescue him on the jet ski past the marina almost. Relaunching is for pussies. Real men swim! _________________ The Slider Project, LLC

The front lines have 2 short lines which run to the leading edge
a couple feet from the center of the kite
By pulling the front lines the short "bridle" puts pressure on the leading edge and cause the kite to stick before it gets downwind ,just like bridle kites pretty nifty for a C kite, once downwind the C kite launches by again pulling one front line
working it's way to the side
I also was a 12.0 bridle guy,(16.0 C) until I tried the 2009 14.0
13.0 might be cool
thanks |
