Sat Nov 21, 09 3:55 pm North lines??? |
|
|
Hi,
I have 2008 North Rebels with only 3 months on them and have noticed some signifcant wear and abrasions on the lines. This is surprising to me considering how burly these lines look out of the bag.
1) Has anyone else noticed significant wear on their North lines? Are they snaggy or something? I am surprised as they look more worn than my old Best lines.
2) If I replace my back lines (the ones most worn and of most concern) with other 25m lines from another kite company (more cost effective), how do you get a safe stopper knot at the end of the back kook proof line?
Any help would be appreciated,

| my north lines have been bomber. the pig tails suck however. You would be a fool to replace two lines as stretch in the other two would make them uneven in length and encourage the dreaded backstall. you could remedy it with adjusting your other line lengths, but if you're gonna go through the trouble, replace all four lines. |

strapless, great point!
I have two 2008 North bars/lines. One I use at a location that's grassy, the other I use at locations that are sandy. The ones I use in the sand are worn much more. I suspect the reason is that sand is basically ground glass.
I've gotten in the habit of rolling up the lines immediately before and after use, minimizing the time people can walk on them as they're laid out on the beach. I took some nwkiters' advice and leave the lines attached to my 10m during peak season, it's much more convenient. |
