I haven't tried kiting this late into November at Rooster, but tomorrow's forecast looks doable on the surface. Anyone thinking about heading out tomorrow? Any comments/advice would be appreciated.

Wednesday: Patchy fog before 10am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 52. East wind around 16 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

16 with gusts of 20 isnt worth freezing my ass off at cock rock. When I can bust out my 7m then i'll be willing to freeze.

Kiting this late in the season can be serious business. Hood booties and gloves pretty much mandatory. Don't kite till utter exhaustion in case you have to swim.

Have fun ( or as much fun as you can have freezing your ass off)

I was thinking about hitting Rooster on Thursday morning, before all the turkey begins flying.

I got about an hour in at Jones Beach last Sunday morning. It was cold, but nice westerlies. I was able to stay up wind fine, but had to "Frogger" around a lot of wood.

I was fine as far as tempature except for my feet, which were bare and got pretty cold. Does any one have suggestions for booties. I've tried a pair that I had from kayaking, but lost too contact with the board.

I love my Atan "Mistral" booties. Never had cold feet yet and they feel great. Feels like wearing a sock, great board feel and control. I would have prefered buying them local, but nobody carries them. Anywhere in the US. I had to order them from the UK...

Nice blast from the past Nicole! Very Happy Phillip sure has had some amazing luck with kites. I remember his Waroo getting loose at Woodland. Tumbled over a barbed wire fence and got stuck in a tree. Zero damage. Sucks about the Fuel though. Maybe the wind gods are telling him to stick with SLEs?

Rooster is looking good! Very Happy Forecast looks to be steady all day... I'm thinking noonish? Anyone else in?

You should buy one of those RC surfer dudes Stringer. I bet for him the SC waves will be about head high Wink

Just wait for the storms and you'll be golden.

SC much better. Very Happy OK, miserable day at RR today. Sunny. Sun got in my eyes all the time. Twisted Evil Too damn windy. Way too lit on my 9m. Not nearly gusty enough. Very Happy DEFINITELY no bikini chicks. Sad On the other hand, no VC either!
