Its been downgraded - if its below 40ft not really worth the effort...

Where on the coast you hangin Aaron - really need to be on the cover of your mag Laughing

- not highly likely that its going to be very clean with 20kts onshore wind - have had some magic southerlies where it was a swirling mess on the inside with crazy peeling lefts on the outside - 30ft and driving rain sounds like a special Oregon day

My wife & I are going to head down to see the waves... Original plan was going tomorow, but the forecast here:

http://magicseaweed.com/Cannon-Beach-Surf-Report/313/detailedLongRange/us/

shows the best swell being Saturday night, so we changed to Saturday. (Only have time for one night. ) This other forecast shows this though:

ORZ001-WAZ021-061245-
NORTH OREGON COAST-SOUTH WASHINGTON COAST-
INCLUDING THE CITIES OF...ASTORIA...CANNON BEACH...TILLAMOOK...
PACIFIC CITY...NORTH COVE...RAYMOND...LONG BEACH...NASELLE
929 PM PST THU NOV 5 2009

...HIGH SURF ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM PST SATURDAY...

We don't want to miss the mid 30s faces, and Saturday through Sunday would work better for us. Anybody with experience want to venture a guess?

Thanks!

An awesome photo op along the Oregon coast is Shore Acres
south on Cape Arago Highway from Coos Bay
A donated former residence and surrounding gardens with a large fan shaped rock
that waves strike and send spray up over a hundred feet that you can stand next to
I once saw a log about 40 feet long and 4' in diameter ground to bits in about 5 mins Shocked
that was 20' surf.

Supposedly a great Thai resturant in Charlston along the way

I went out to the Washington Coast once when the waves were 26ft, and it was pretty insane. Don't get to close!

Worth noting Kafta double seshed the wave that day - paddle surfing it sans ski prior to the wind picking up.

Here's some pics. Sorry there's nobody surfing to give some scale to the shots... Wink

Trips to Lincoln City are always eventful; last night a tornado came ashore about a mile north of us.
