Good Morning!

The bike program is in full swing and for those of you who have donated bikes let me tell you they are getting used! The kids in the program are all low income kids and the bikes donated are allowing them to burn up the trails here in Hood River. There world gets bigger every time we ride. Took them to the OSU extension office the other day.

We need your old brakes, frames, and complete bikes. At this point we have 8 riders and 6 bikes. We need some new;old bikes! Frames, wheels, cranks, brakes, and such.

Look for us wearing orange vests cruising Indian Creek, and sometimes Post Canyon.

Thanks for all of your support,

Ron

Is it tax deductible? I've got an older mtb I could donate.

Yes, all donated bikes are tax deductible. I will get you a letter with a fair cost estimate before April!!

If I owe you a letter please remind me and I will get it done.

**Bike Update!!!

I have a bike with 18inch rims that a kid has earned!! This young man has earned 98% of his points for the first nine weeks, WOW! I'll tell you that the bike made it happen. Mom is a great lady, but as a single mother there is no way she can swing the bike. It's a great bike for this kid.

This program is really going well because of all the support from NWkite.com Thanks

Ron

I donated a bike to Ron last year, and I'm sure it went to a good cause. Think about that old MTB sitting in the back of the garage collecting dust... sure it cost $3000 7 years ago, but hasn't been touched in years, falling in the shadow of your new $4500 Santa Cruz Blur/ Enduro/ FSR/ whatever FS you've got now...

Those old hardtails are what make his program fly, and really go to help needy kids get out and do something they see as unattainable or not possible. Think about giving the program your old bike, otherwise it will just get pawned off on ebay or craigslist in a few more years when its worth nothing at all...

Thanks John,

Your kids older 18inch bikes are good too. If you have old components, bike helmets, pads, lights etc.. We will use them.

Your old biking gloves, helmets, and vests will also be used!

Thanks,

Ron

Downstairs in the Community Education Bldg. there is a bike rack. This is the herd we ride! Park the bike there or call me at 386-2511, ext. 5703 and I will come get it.
Thanks
Ron

Good Morning!,
As you go to work today make sure you think about donating that old bike to our program. We are in need of old hard tail mountain bikes you may not need.

Your donation is tax deductible and your karma will forever be improved,

Ron Very Happy

The letter is in the mail. Thanks for the bikes. Tell your bud that those bikes are ridden every time we hit the trail!!

Just a reminder that if you want to donate a bike to the program, or directly to a disadvantaged kid we are here and ready.

Thanks,

Very Happy

Million things going on right now but I'm purging ten years of "living simply" from my basement and the bike is slated to go. Had field work locally so didn't make it out to HR. I'll try an bring it in tomorrow.

Your kids don't need 300 plastic cd cases do they? Laughing

Will take em off your hands. We have a project involving Cd's and need them. If you want me to I can come pick up the bike and Cd's this weekend. I'll be in Portland on Saturday.

Thanks to everyone who has donated bikes, helmets, tubes, and stuff. I'll post some pics of our next ride with identities protected. The kids really love to mountain bike!

Cheers

My better half will be under the knife today, so I'll not be at work. I'll pick it up from Forrest when I get back to town.

Next week I'll post some of my kids essays on what the donated bikes mean to them. You're gonna like their stories!

Cheers,
Ron
