Sun Oct 11, 09 1:46 pm SUP shipping? |

Anybody got info on the best/cheapest way to ship SUP boards? We've got two collecting dust in Maui and want to use them in SPI this winter. Will the airlines take them? One of our employees will be flying back from Maui soon and could get it to San Diego for us if that is an option.
Thanks in advance!

It takes a ship to ship a boat.
If you have the time, then send it on the slow overseas cargo to Texas. Takes a while, but is cheaper than the other options. |

| Once the boards get to San Diego--Greyhound is an great option. I shipped my board bet. SFO and San Diego by bus for about $15. for many years. $15 each way-- That was a 7' board. If a SUP will fit in the hold of the bus, they'll take it. They'll hold it at the station; (if it's a station) and you're golden. I don't know that a SUP will fit though with the proper bag/bubble wrap. San Diego has a downtown station that will hold a board or transfer a board to the next bus. |

this is the best offer I've found:

Make sure your boards are not over 12'
There is a limit of two (2) boards per container; charges are assessed per container per way. $100 for both...it is cheaper than any ship can do it.
Make sure you call them and inform them way ahead... |
