Don't know if any of you have sighted the very tanned guy with the biggest shit-eating happy smile, but that is Bam Bam and he is back in town.
In town at least for a while, until he leaves for Switzerland to be a ski instructor for the winter.
(I think he is just going to try and bag himself some wealthy, young, euro-skibunny to support his sports-addiction habits).

Welcome back Bam. It was great to sneak in a sesh with you yesterday, hope your toes didn't get too chilly out on the river.

Pepi,

Oh Lordy, what a photo. I came into the shop looking for you today to give you a high five for a great session yesterday. Soooo good to be back in the Gorge, but yeah, off to Europe to support this fascination that I have developed with speed flying. Check out some of the fun from the last six weeks in Austria and France... http://www.vimeo.com/user1262429/videos/sort:date Hopefully in the next few weeks I will be able to put together a few better polished vids.

Working as an instructor is just a way to get a pass and access to some of the best speed flying and snowkiting on the planet. Oh yeah, hopefully I also meet that beautiful, smart, and rich women! I am around until November 1st in Hood River. Don't be shy, come on out and buy me a beer... as I am as poor as dirt at the moment... but, luvin it.

Ciao, Bammer

No more Naish, except that I am still staying connected as a team rider.

But, more importantly... NO MORE MAUI! Rock Fever is real, and is a motivational killer and life blood sucker... unless you enjoy being stuck on a rock in the middle of the Pacific with no seasons, shitty wind, and not exactly the best surf in the world.

hey j,

yep, know what you mean. i used to live on st. thomas, could only take it for a year or so. i would think 2 years on maui would be enough, at least you had a little more room.

glad to see you back.

Ditto. I lived in Puerto Rico for a couple of years and for the 1st year and a half, I thought I'd found permanent paradise, and I wondered why anyone would live any where else but the topics. After a year and a half, I would have swum off that fucking rock if there was no other way to leave!

I used to put a towel on my car seat and drive away from the beach wet with my AC on full blast, on the straightest road there was, just trying to pretend it was cold outside and I wasn't on an island.

It was like living in that movie "groundhog day". Same temp pretty much day and night all year long. No change to the length of day, no real tides, no real seasons (except flat and big wave seasons). Hot as hell every day, thunderstorm in the PM. Rinse and repeat, and repeat, and repeat, and repeat..... You just don't appreciate all the good things after a while.

no, no, no, maui is fantastic for a visit or extended stay. LIVING on the island is a whole different story.
