On my way back from work today I've seen 4 kites in the air just past Lady Island and her paper mill stink. Cars parked on the north side, no shoulder next to the south lane. I stopped trying to scout the idea but couldn't really figure out where's the way down. Anybody cares to tell? Over the highway dodging traffic and over the embankment? Doesn't look inviting. Under the bridge just west of the place? Seems safer but not necessarily any more inviting. I'm sure it is one of the other though.
And yes - it wasn't a good day to settle for the cottonwood beach. Should have taken my gear to work.

| Yea one of those kites was me, playing chicken on highway was not great but OK, you enter next to cotton woods that are at east endof opening and go down rock embankment. Lauch kite and kite in cove do not go out to island as we did or lulls and current pull you down wind faster than you can imagine. just stay in cove and you will do fine.

Thanks! With afternoon traffic on the rise I had a vision of me doubling as a roadside beef jerky. Should have gone for it after all.

Fun day at Camas today. You just have to be good at playing "Frogger"...

Nope. Just a rocky, muddy beach.

Glad you guys had fun. Frogger-kiting or survivalism-kiting will be new for me! Just out of curiosity in addition to Cottonwood Beach, Camas, is the Steamboat Landing ever a good place to consider?
Man, I could sooo use Washougal to Rooster ferry yesterday !

The car dodging wasn't too bad when we got there... Big enough gaps to not have to sprint too fast but when the wind died around 5:30 there was quite a backup heading eastbound.
One car stopped to let us get across.
Feet are a little sore today from walking across the gravel/clam shells after I couldn't relaunch. Close to home and a good session.... wish it would blow there more often.
Nice to meet you Nak and Rico!
