Hey so I am about 150 lbs and I've got a 2007 12m naish boxer and was wondering what kind of a wind range I can get out of it. I've been out to Sauvies a few times and have felt underpowered so I'm thinking about going to Hood River. I just don't want to go and get thrown around. What do you think?

I have a similar kite that works from about 12mph with a skimboard to about 27mph, though it's not incredibly fun at either end of the spectrum. Typically I'm on a 9m about 75% of the time in HR.

Here's a good wind range test. Get a soft cotton baseball hat and hold it to the wind. If the hat stands up, it is perfect for your 12. if it flops down, too light. if the hat flaps like a flag, get out your 9. if so much sand blows in your eyes that you can't see the hat, get out your 6.

I think I was going to buy one of those things but got a T2 11 instead, and I don't know jack S**t about kiting. If that Boxer doesn't do the trick from the first couple of white caps till well over 20 mph,, I'd get rid of it. Sorry if I didn't answer your question. Shocked

You wont be riding that 12 alot in HR....that's the perfect Sauvies kite...+ a skim board or surfboard and your set.

get a 9m if your thinking of riding in HR.
