Theres lakes there but not good launches.

It would be a boat or drift launch.

There are some great spots up north in bays and such and some more friendly beginner areas o the coast .

I´d like to know also. Something with shallow water to launch from and land to and no heavy surf.
There are some coves off the west shore of the Siuslaw estuary, along the road to the S. Jetty, where I´ve seen windsurfers take off from.

Here is a good one - don't get sucked out the inlet on the outgoing tide - I hear thats where whitey picks off the weak ones

the problem with flat water riding at the coast is the wind get seriously screwed up once you're even a short distance inland.

floras has some gusts to it but it generally works pretty well.

you've got to understand the tides to ride at siletz - i don't ride there so i don't know much, but sometimes the tides are high enough to make it tough to launch, other times you might get a ripping current pulling you out to sea.

there are lots of times in the summer when the swell is small enough to make florence beginner friendly - we might be done with that for this year, though...

yeah found that out the hard way.
went to siletz today and when i got there there was pretty much no water.
but it did look like a fun little place to have a sesh.
definitely going t floras next time
