...Finally fled Hood River for downriver heat refuge yesterday. On the way to Jones, stopped-off at Woodland and caught an excellent upwind/downwinder from Lion's Gate park. Discovered a shallow and semi-buttery area between the two wingdams north of Lion's Gate. Unfortunately, in the process gashed my foot on a rock in the shallows. (Will spare the Bulae fillet-of-foot photo.) Appears no Blowout for me this year...

Good option for this weekend is giggin'/camping/kiting Clatskanie Bluegrass festival; camping in the Clatskanie park in the grass, skatepark, pool, showers, a.m. breakfasts, and Jones only 15 minutes away... Very cheap too.

Glad to hear you found some butter. Sorry to hear about the foot.

If you have a clean cut; and got it at the butter; You're in the club. Gotta be lightfoot up there.

Bummer Jim! You'll have to tap your other foot at the bluegrass festival now...

Camp-Giggin'-Gimp settin'-up today at-around 5:00 p.m.

...Have to admit that I'm feeling very tempted to kite today. ...Not to get too graphic, but the gash is on the edge of my heel, about the length of a staple. Thinking if I fashion some-sorta' Clatskanie-inspired foam donut around it and temporarily seal-er-up, I'd be good-to-on-water-gimp. Anyone with suggestions?

Super glue.
Put it on top. Not inside the cut.

Jones is at 17 now, think I'm done working for the day.

Might stick around for the Bluegrass Festival.

Although had polesmurfed at Jones since 89' had never tasted the downriver buttafooco inside the upside down bird's neck until Friday. Nice find fellers. Tasty indeed...although I had to ride toeside for 1.5 hours to avoid putting much pressure on the superglued right heel gash...
