only cause of phils request

my intentions are not to tell people where or how to ride, just to be considerate of those who have put in a lot of time and energy to develop a particular riding area.
we have never really had a problem, nor do we now, but things are getting a bit more crowded with all the boot riders we have now. anyone new to the park, follow these guidelines and you should be able to blend right in to the mix.

this has to do with the traffic flow in the park area

1. if it is crowded with riders hitting features and doing wake tricks, and you are cruising back and forth or worse --dangling around with your kite high
PLEASE LEAVE and come back when it is less crowded
when everyone is riding powered with their kite at or below 45 degrees in a small area, it only takes one person with kite high to totally screw the traffic flow

2. generally, right foot forward enters the mouth upwind then exits(left foot forward) further downwind(HOW FAR?----far enough that if a right foot forward person hitting the kicker, or doing a flat water trick, dropping his kite won't hit you)
this can change if the general flow pattern changes. of course, this one is not written in stone and has grey areas, there are exceptions. just observe and be aware of the general traffic pattern. work your way upwind in the columbia, then return on the lee edge of the sandbar

3. THIS ONE IS WRITTEN IN STONE-- if you are riding downwind of a feature (ie landing zone) make sure someone isn't lining up to hit it. it basically means you are in the way. in the park, the approaching rider has the right of way (unless the previous rider crashed and is relaunching)
this means if you are trying to get back upwind, but your path takes you in the way of a rider approaching a feature or his landing----you need to alter your course---not him.

4. if a lot of people are riding a feature, don't go trying a new trick that you crash on, over and over again. progression session should be saved for less crowded times

have fun and be SAFE, must have safety

Good info.

If you think about it similar guidelines are posted in snowboard parks on the mountain. Just common sense for the most part.

Good post!!

People should realize this is NOT a "this is our place, stay out thread".

It is a come play with us...this is how we play. (Us being everyone except me cause I'm not in the park that much Smile )

The kiddie pool and the park features are much less intimidating if you know what is going on and your working with people, not screwing everyone else up. (that is unless their is a guy with a paintball mask tearing the shit out of the place-- beware of that guy, he will eat your face off!!)

LOL

Maybe it'd be better to rename it to something more obvious that can be searched for in the future? Only people reading it right now are probably the usual suspects.
