Fact: First hand i heard a kiter grabbed the clue of a windsurf sail knocking him off, then proceded to jump on the sail leaving a LARGE gash........after he yelled at the windsurfer for cutting him off, which the windsurfer appologized.
UNCOOL!!! I am ASHAMED!! NEVER GRAB SOMEONE ELSES GEAR UNLESS YOU ARE HELPING THEM!!! THERE COULD BE LEGAL REPROCUSSIONS not to mention that our reputation as a new (to alot of people) and growing sport while trying to get access and things from the Port and other associations are once again comprimised by some JACKASS with a TUDE. Knock it OFF!! Who the F*%K are you to judge whether the appology was sincere enough!!!
I have ALWAYS stood up for both sports, because I love them....and that is why we are all here. Everyone makes mistakes. Keep the riff off the water.

Arla,
Hadn't heard about this and I was at the Spit yesterday... Thanks for the update... Maybe the CGKA will reach out to the CGWA and provide an apology just to let them know we Do Not Support this type of S*&t, if it gets to be an issue! Better yet, let them know that we are willing to assist finding the person that did this and help to rectify the situation. Not that we should be apologizing for ignorant people, but if we find out that they are in the association, they should be talked to... Plus, this happened right at the port, and even worse, the event site, where we are privileged to take off and land around there....
Yesterday was nuking and it was hard for people to give right of way to each other, so people just need to chill and compromise, who cares if you have right of way sometimes.... Another kiter could have done the same damn thing....
if anyone knows who did this, it would be great to talk to them and tell them to do the right thing, or just let a BOD person from the CGKA know about it, and we can chat with them, all names would be confidential... Last edited by boarderchick on Thu Jul 23, 09 1:41 pm; edited 1 time in total |

During a windsurf race I was impressed how every single kiter gave way to me and other racers . The swell was good and I new it was tough but everyone worked together a gave way to us racers , port or starboard.
Thanks. _________________ Gorge Performance

Do you not see the funny side of lack of restraint? The act is assault, and the windsurfer should be pissed. I'm just wondering who would do that.
I'm laughing because it must be some kind of idiot to attack anyone.
I watch cops and I laugh.

I hope Kite Naked doesn't get dragged into this somehow......
We have been working on our PR skills lately if any help is needed..

Yah sometimes we get on each others nerves on the water....definately better ways to handle conflicts then to trash someones's gear. _________________ Chris

Im not one to have compassion for windsurfers.
But never would I grab onto one and trash his shit.
I might be a punk sometimes but Im no asshole.
The windsurfer in question actually happens to be a family friend, and he is a super nice dude. I heard about this a couple days ago. I think an apology is in order, and a sail repair definitely needs to be paid for. _________________ I heart dangling |

wow! that's F'ed up!
I'm always shocked how angry people get while they are out supposedly having the time of there lives doing what they love.
seems like some people need to be reminded that this is something we do "for fun"
I hope they catch the guy and treat him the same way he treated that sail. _________________ www.youtube.com/c/christianjohnsons |

should name said douch bag for ripping a sail. That really is shitty behavior. It's so easy to avoid conflict.
Don't get me wrong I've got a good kook radar and have told locals and newbs to get away from me, but grabin a sail is not cool.
