Anybody could tell you that, based on comparing kites of equal size, foils are *way* more efficient at generating power than kites with bladders.

There are lots of advantages to foils IF you are using them on land. The issue is that foils are just not practical for use on the water. Even if they have mechanisms to prevent water from entering the cells when you crash them, they still get wet and heavy and hard to relaunch, they do lose pressure the longer they sit on the water, and they also have a tendency to bow-tie from time to time which renders them unrelaunchable. You can relaunch foils from the water, just not nearly as reliably as bladder kites.

Foils are designed to generate power. Bladder kites are designed to relaunch from the water.

If anyone disagrees with me, please buy my old F-One kites that are gathering dust in my garage. Such a deal I'll make you!

Agreed. Learned on F-One-More-Swim. Limpness abounded.
