Sat Jul 25, 09 8:34 am With the heat...and usable winds mid-week at Stevenson? |
|
|
I'm headed to Stevenson Tue & Wed of next week and the weather forecast is for +100 degree days. I was hoping to get some beginner riding lessons but fear the chances of any usable winds are pretty grim.
Any chance for something a beginner could ride in? |

Full body armor!
Stevies has a very small, rocky, fluky wind launch. Have fun. |

This summer, each time ikitesurf forecasted 100-degree days and no-wind in the Gorge, Stevenson got something -- either a warm afternoon westerly thermal or easterlies (very nice!). That said, I don't go off of the forecast until the night before and mostly the morning that I'm there in Stevenson!
I had lessons for today cancel on Wednesday because they were scared off from the 4-day forecast, but then the hot steady thermal kicked in making for great afternoon riding!
So, don't always go off the ikitesurf forecast. Especially more than a day in advance!! It can come up unexpectedly and very solid at Stevenson! _________________ Cascade Kiteboarding
