07 fuel vs 09 rev vs something else for jetty island

So I'm looking to buy my first kite, to be used primarily at jetty island, and I'm definetly on a budget, and can only afford one kite, probably in the $500-$800 range, that I want to last at least the next few years. So I need to have some comfort that my purchase will be one that would fit my style. and allow me to learn, while not holding me back at all performance wise once I have learned. I'd rather learn on an intermediate-pro type model, even if there is a steeper learning curve, so that I can grow into it, and once I have learned I don't feel limited.

I'm 6 foot, 205 pounds all muscle, no gut, very athletic. I do just about every other extreme sport out there, and pick things up pretty quickly. Already wakeboard/surf experienced, and already been flying a rush pro 3.5 meter trainer. I plan to pretty much ride the same way I wakeboard, only getting bigger air.

Originally I was recommended a 15 meter '07 slingshot fuel, and I was very interested in it. I read alot of c vs hybrid vs bow comparisons, and found that C seems to fit what I'm looking for best, direct kite feel, freestyle, etc. And after reading reviews of the fuel, and watching video I was pretty set. Until one thing made me wonder....driving all over the place chasing wind just to try and fly my trainer kite. It has been so frustrating even trying to fly the trainer, because I'm always finding poor winds, or struggling to fly it in low winds, etc.

So all the struggles with the unpredictability of the wind conditions made me think maybe I should reconsider a hybrid with a higher wind range, since it would be better to be out at least flying more of a beginner kite, than having a high performance kite and sitting on the beach after countless wasted trips. So that's when I started considering the Rev. I had seen a package deal with a board and an '09 rev for like $1200 so I could afford that.

I searched and searched for comparisons but couldn't find any for a '07 fuel vs '09 rev. Although I heard from one guy that said he switched from a '07 fuel to an '09 rev and that it jumps better.

Anyways, based on my long winded explanation of what I'm looking for. And what my style, and body size is, etc. What would probably be the best kite for me to buy? '07 fuel, '09 rev, or something else? And what would be the advantages/disadvantages?

Thanks.[/quote]dude come on kitting is not easy and finding conditions favorable less!so get ready to cry like a baby, and sceamin like a college party keger!!! butt be ready to kitemare, all kites have issuses, try them out, spend more money on lessons, go to demmos thier is allways next summer, before ending in a nightmare, dont teach your self like some do, or did, hay its a bummer but if money is the issue please dont kite, kittin is for love of the rush, like golfin you pay!!
