Tue Jul 07, 09 3:36 pm Southwest Airlines Two Day Fare Sale! |
|
|
Just saw this:
Two day fare sale starting today on Southwest airlines website. Travel Sept 9 through Nov 18.
Fly up to 400 miles for $30 each way.
401 to 750 for $60 each way.
750 + for $90 each way.
We're thinking of a mid September trip to Hatteras for $180 roundtrip. Is it better to fly into Raleigh or Norfolk? I thought I heard that September was pretty good in Hatteras.

Norfolk is closer and easier (better roads). |

several airlines are in on it:
The sales are short-term offerings. Southwest's fares must be bought by 11:59 p.m. PT Wednesday, while the sales window for AirTran prices for travel on off-peak days through Nov. 11 remains open through Thursday. The Frontier sale expires on July 14. Travel on those tickets covers a longer period: Aug. 10 through Jan. 15.
i just bought a cheap ticket to NC on continental for the same price as SW! |

We're looking at the last week of Sept. right now. Heard from a couple of people that Sept and Oct are both pretty good.

Thanks for the tip TinyE. Hadn't noticed the other airlines. Just bought tickets on Continental for $180 RT PDX to Norfolk. Leaving Sept 24, returning Oct. 6th. Nice to get the Continental miles as they fly to Brownsville for our SPI trips.
Also figured out that Southwest stops flying PDX to Norfolk on Aug 15th. You can still get there by going through Denver but the cost goes up. The PDX/ORF run is a summer time only thing.
