Question for y'all. I haven't' needed to repair a kite yet, whew, but I just picked up a used kite and it's got some wear on it. Some stitching on the leading edge seems to have come loose, there's a few pinholes in the main canopy (green fabric), and a few pin holes on the trailing edge (blue fabric). I've linked to a few images below. The grid size on this nylon is about 4.5mm so the pictures are taken pretty close. I think the biggest hole is the one by the trailing edge (blue fabric). And I'm not sure how the leading edges are generally stitched and if these stitches are the binding or extra reinforcement. Nothing to worry about, something to worry about, just patch/sail tape, better take it to a pro repair shop?

Thanks for the insight!

The first pic is worth a trip to The Dangler (Kite RX) for some stiching. The rest are just a quick fix with some sail tape.

turn around time is probably faster with the dangler. Plus, as an added benefit, he won't taunt you at Stevenson. Smile

Good for the Dangler if he can turn kites around overnight with no extra charge. But I've seen, and had to redo, some pretty wack repairs of his.

arkay, The small canopy holes could use repair tape(dacron or nylon). The stitching on the LE probably won't result in a LE blowout at this point but you should put some dacron tape on there to keep the stitching from getting worse.

Grow up B Money. Do you honestly think that people would reccomend Marc if he did poor work. Just come out and admit that you don't like him taking buisness from your company (airtime).
