First off i want to thank Ocean Rodeo and everyone else who made this trip absolutely amazing.
special thanks to:
Richard for being the man.... plus winning the race
The cooks for providing awesome food
Jeremie for coming out despite the (for him) arctic temps
Dale from Nitinaht for organizing the event
John for bringing Snoop Dog camping & showing us around Vic
Stephaans for rescuing the kite @ 3am. (my sides still hurt from laughing)
Evan for convincing me to bring my race board and getting his race board back after that crazy night on the town.
The crew not only knows how to kite like there is no tomorrow but also have a good time afterward (to put it mildly)
The winds were a little slow coming up the first few days but once they did it was nice an smooth air with good boosting.
I realized when i was out learning to ride the hydrofoil board before the big was not the best idea but despite being on the
beach rigging a new kite after getting rescued when the starting gun for the race went off I managed to get 15th place out of 58.
I already am planning for next year and can't wait

I have a "Saabaru." I don't ride for OR but I have a friend with an OR quiver and I'm thinking of picking up some, how do the Diablos fly?

The Diablos are great kites with more of the classic grunty C kite feel that most of the pros like and are great for Freestyle. Personally i like the Rise better but it depends on your riding style.
have u tried either yet? Where are you located? |
