I have not seen any mention of this but does anyone have experience mounting a gopro cam rig line mount on any of our lines/bars that support single front line flag e.g. Compstick or Cabrinha 1X? Does it stop the kite from flagging??

I use mine all the time on the compstick.
The line flagging made me nervous so all I do is attach the green stickies to the line that is not the flagging line. Then just run the flagging line through the black plastic without the green stickies. That way the line will still flag and the camera stays very stable |

hey guys I designed the line mount plugs to be used with a flagging system.
if you look at the little green rubber plugs they have a groove that allows the line to move easier through the rubber surface. there is a little tension when in place as that was a design feature to allow users to push the line mount farther up the lines for a different perspective. if you try moving your line mount while it is assembled on your lines, you'll notice that it does move but with a some resistance. when you activate your chicken loop release, there will be enough force on the flagging line to allow the line to move through the rubber plugs.
I have tried the flagging system with the line mount and plugs installed and it will flag.
I feel the only time it might not flag is if the wind is extremely light, but in this situation sometimes flagging line will not release off the swivel pulley under these conditions.
if you don't trust me, feel free to run without the plugs at least on your flagging line. _________________ www.jimstringfellow.com |
