you know,....

there is about a thousand sites for the weather, maybe a few hundred for the winds. If Ikite dosent even provide an accurate "human" forecast for the entire year,....what are you paying for?

Maybe they should charge only when the "human" aspect comes into play?

i guess ikite is just a bad habit. i need help, can't get rid of it.

agreed, they should allow FREE use during the winter months. but the windbow graphs are still nice and more helpful than some of the other options.

i guess what i find nice about the human forecast is the wind quality issue. it's fairly easy to determine whether there will be wind or not using the other sites out there. but then i have to make a guess on the quality, which is difficult early season and late season. difficult for a meteorologist as well... but it's nice when at least someone is making a guess at it. then, i have someone to blame. haha.

yeah, there are other websites out there but until I buy an iphone and navigate to them on the web Ikite is the only site that I know of that I can get all the info right from my phone in a couple of clicks.

The human forecast is super dope for sure and they always start right when the season really ramps up so who cares if it doesn't happen in the winter.
it's $12 or $14 a month.

For me, that is totally worth it if it means that I am able to look at whats going on in real time and act accordingly so I won't get skunked or blown off the water.

plus, there is no better way to kill time in a boring meeting then scroll through wind graphs, satelite maps,a nd pressure charts on your phone.

Looks like you can pick-up a $20 discount on the yearly rate if you're not already an iPolesmurf or iKite member;

"Attention: If you are not already an iWindsurf member, you can pick up a $20 discount at http://www.iwindsurf.com/temira or http://www.ikitesurf.com/temira. I tried to negotiate a re-up discount for everyone on the list, but couldn't secure one. So.... if you've been waiting for a little extra motivation to have wind information at your fingertips, here it is."

last I checked Temira was a human... local. But for some odd reason she's texted in a promo for the $20 discount for iwind. Maybe she's going to charge soon?

I just found this wind resource. I have not seen it posted here before, so I figured I'd pass it on. It requires a free log-on, but after that you can click around on the map and get different wind speeds.

You can change between mph and m/s in the lower right corner.

Yea, it's pretty neat. I know the power companies have meteorologists on staff to predict how much wind is going to blow to predict energy needs. We should see if they'll start publishing their forecasts!
