| I highly recommend avoiding the Stevenson kite launch if there are other windy areas! I've been there three times this summer and every time I see a different guy, and even multiple guys, yelling at people, telling them what to do and what not to do. The vibe there is totally aggro. And beware the red head - I came back from my session to find one of my tires slashed apparently because I steered too close to her on the water. WTF?! |

It's really hard to tell these days; is this supposed to be a humorous post? I apologize if not, but I kite Stevie--a lot--and have never seen behavior like you're describing. There is a way that things have to be done there--learned by past serious accidents and crowded conditions given the tiny launch area. So regulars are likely to advise folks that seem inexperienced. If your tires were indeed slashed, I'd recommend calling LE. There is a webcam that likely caught the act. I'd be more than shocked to find out a regular was responsible.
Next time you're there, hit me up. I'm in the red Tesla. I'll cue you in on local procedures and share a beer!
Cheers! |
