Anybody been sailing the north coast last 2-3 days? Looking for 10m -12m mtr stuff with less waves than Manzanita.
Manzanita has been great for the big kids on their 6-7 mtr all having a good time....too much for my old bones and rusty skills..

Oh, I do like manzo tho! Sweet boosties when it’s cranking. Nice waves closer to town. Sorry....didn’t answer your question... but I might need to go to manzo soooon! _________________ Gun control means hitting the bulls eye... |

Checked out Sunset both Saturday and Sunday around 1pm, but looked like barely enough for 12m and still plenty of waves. Weird localized effect where it would be ripping 20 in Astoria, but barely capping at Sunset. I think fog rolled in both days too.
As a side note, anybody kited the flat water around Astoria? Looks pretty nice at high tide, but launches are a bit lacking. |

Get a boat or wave runner and explore the seemingly countless sand beaches and island. More up on the Washington side of the river/Ilwaco. I believe you want NW WNW wind.

Is that right near the port? I noticed a spot out there a couple years ago and was wondering if it would be good for kiting. I didn't have my gear with me at the time but it sure looked promising! |

Lot B can often be 9m when Sunset is 12m. Jones works a lot more often and is the perfect spot to learn to foil |
