Hello, my name is Eric, I'm working with Greg, from Board Riding Maui, to expose more people, here in the NW, to his cloud kites and his awesome board he calls the paipo. He designed the cloud with de-power being his mane focus. He succeeded. You can dump all the power with very little throw of the bar. They're awesome at drifting down the line for surfing with a kite and because they're so light, with no struts, they stay up in the air with very little wind. I'm offering his kites and his paipo at a discount, for a short time. The paipo is regularly $575, which includes shipping. I'll be selling a couple for $545.

Am I a jerk for wondering if this should be in the industry section?

I get it that you are trying to help your buddy out. But doesn't that seem like a better place to post? Clearly you are pimping gear, and if the local shops don't get to do it shouldn't folks from outta town play by the same rules?

Josh

Yeah, that makes since. I thought I'd seen similar posts here before, but don't want to cause a problem. If it needs to be moved, that's fine.

have you been to the industry section????
its like nwkite siberia with links to free movie downloads.
I'd rather see it here than sift through the crap on that sub forum.
As for the clouds, I was skeptical the smaller sizes would work in the gorge due to the inconsistent and gusty winds, but spending an afternoon on the 7m proved to be a fun session with the strutless kite handling the lulls and gusts very well. super fun looping kite.
later in the afternoon I spent on the 5m strutless in the slicks. super fun to make a smaller kite work but man does it turn fast!
yeah and that paipo board is a great board to add to any strapless quiver. fun with fins or not

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

I tried Stringys 13 meter cloud last summer and it performed well on a very light wind day.

I tried using the 13m cloud at frenchmans on monday.
sauvies sensor was reading in low teens hovering between 10-11 when I checked with gusts to low to mid teens. probably would have not been able to make the kite work with a normal board even my glideskate, but with a foil I was overpowered on that kite!

Not that it matters, however as a non-industry guy I agree with stringy here.

Idea
Perhaps someone affiliated with NWKite would consider starting a single thread for industry information. Make it a free for all single thread where everybody gets to pimp their product.

This would provide for some visibility, and would give us all something to do on no wind days. I'll bet it would keep the stupid posts down too as we would be wasting non-wind days reading rather than posting...

It would be a kick to see how long this thread got...

Anyway, just a thought.
