I plan on driving the Oregon coast sometime in April. I know it's a little early, but could I get some good kiteing?

I'm starting my trip in the bay area. Maybe I'll spend more time down there.

April's pretty tough to predict. You're unlikely to get a lot of classic summer NW'erlies, but you can score some glorious sunny southerlies in the spring with the potential for big fun terrain. If you also surf you're going to find scores. Thumb's Up

Awesome, I'm as happy surfing as I am kiteing.

The Oregon coast is always holding. Check the NOAA forecast and look for north winds. I have always had luck down south that time of year. Might luck into some good conditions.

Forecasting for 4 to 7 days out is pretty damn accurate in this day and age. Best to leave all possibilities on the table and go with what presents itself as the best option at that time. I have scored some of the best kitesurfing that Oregon coast has to offer (northerlies) during April or you could find yourself launching your smallest kite in gale force southerlies and sideways rain. Anything is possible that time of the year!

Question Question Question

It looks like there is some good potential along the whole coast. Now it's just up to luck.
