Wear boardshorts both under and over the wetsuit. Just in case. Also wear a bathing cap if you are kiting in a public river.

I like em... for the same reason I don't wear spandex shorts for mountain biking. Also gives me a pocket to hold my gloves while I'm rigging in the winter.

Would you buy the same kite you have now if it only came in black or grey? Most probably not. Thats why whenever a new kite line or year is launced all we do is bitch about the graphics first, then we talk performance.
Board shorts over wetsuits is a way of livining up the color pattern. Most wetsuits are all black with a little color logo. I agree with the boardshorts plus a jersey. Its a good look. Dont care if my junk is out there. Usually after five minutes of kting you cant tell that I have any junk.

Are you kidding? Typically I don't even know or care what color kites I've bought until I pull one out of the bag to pump it up. Florida must be a very different place where style is more important than function?

I don't understand why this is such a angry debate. The answer is so simple. If you normally wear board shorts in the summer wear them over your suit. If you normally wear a speedo in the summer wear that over your suit. If you kite in the buff then don't wear nothing over your suit. Simple!
P.S. why do basketball players wear a black sleeve?
Loggers suspenders? Dreadlocks, bandannas, surfpants etc.....? STYLE! |
