I had the opportunity to join the Best Odyssey in Cabo Verde for 10 days recently.

Here is a quick rundown of the trip with a few shots.

Direct flight from Boston (with TACV) on the 18th of Feb for Cabo Verde. The adventure was from the 20th of Feb to the 1st of March.

In a nut shell it was the best trip ever, hands down, bar none.

Here are the details.

-Rode 10 for 10 on 8-10m kites
-the first 3 days the waves were 2-3 times overhead - scary shit, but damn fun
-the next 6 days the waves were 1.5-2 times overhead - sodope
-the last day was small and it was only .5-1 time overhead
-we only rode our twin tips for one am sesh. A 2 mile upwinder to a small flat water spot.
-the boat is as pimp as all the photos
-we had a chef onboard that made all of our meals and they were as good if not better than any 5 star restaurant
-our pro guest was Kristin Boese, she is rad.
-we rode in a salt mine, just for shits a giggles - photos to follow.
-200ml beers are better than they first appear
-once off the boat we partied like it was 1994 - nightlife starts at 2am there.
-each day was better than the last

The guys on the boat were saying that these were some of the best conditions that they have seen in the last 5 yrs sailing around the world, sweet!

The wind was epic, the waves were HUGE, the other people on the boat were great. The food was out of this world.

Enjoy the photo's, there are a few 1000 more if needed....

Additional information:

Great website for Kite boarding on Sal (http://www.surfcaboverde.com/)

We stayed at Porto Antiquo 2 Apt 4 for the 4 night on the island. It was 100' from the ocean. dialed.

Riding spots (http://www.surfcaboverde.com/bottommenu ... tions.html)
All offshore wind as tradewinds are NE. There are spots that are onshore, but we did not ride there. Looked decent though, but busy. Beach where we rode was lava rocks with submerged reef. gnarly dude!

We rode at Ali Baba and Coral Djeul for 6 days straight

We rode at Mount Leo one day (twin tip upwinder)

We rode Punta Preta West coast 2 days. This is the big wave spot from Addikt 2.

Awesome.

Frickin' SWEET!

Nice score with tasty waves, wind and food and a beautiful goddess who likely can kick most of our asses kiting!

haha. there was plenty of surfing to be had. Generally it occurred later in the day into the dark as the wind would die off a bit at night.
