ok, we are looking good for the Round-UP, there is a lot going on this year, and we could really use some committed volunteer help!

all volunteers will receive free all access registration passes, t-shirts, and swag bag.

volunteers that commit to 6 full days of help can receive free lodging here on the island during the event (may 1 - 9) . 6 days means you will be working and not probably not riding very much (sorry to say)

some of the volunteer activities:

-contest official assistants: will be helping with communication, set-up, and logistics of the contests - mainly speed trials, long jump, max spin, boarderX, slider style, and freestyle, but possibly downwind race and others.

-rail park crew: work to maintain rail placements, modify park: we have a lot of rails this year, both floating and grounded, we need some experienced riders willing to make sure things aren't pointed too far upwind, etc. bring booties.

-clinics coordinator: assist in confirming / organizing clinic times and locations with clinic hosts, and updating participant info boards at stage, registration, and vendor tent, as well as updating the event announcer to changes in the schedule because of wind or whatever else.

-winch park assistant: Yankmeister Winch Company is running 2 winches, all day every day. one open course, one rail park. we need a volunteer to help them keep an eye on safety, help non riders learn to ride, and keep an eye on the demo boards at that area.

-skim park supervisor: if there is enough interest, we need a volunteer to keep an eye on the flatwater skim park: it is a shallow trench, into which rails can be placed and removed. we will be hosting a flatwater skim contest on the final saturday of the event.

-registration tent: assist at the registration tent (its a nice tent this year, no wind, lots of shade, thanks to Sol Pad tents)

there are probably other things too, that i can't think of right now, but if you would like to be a part of great event, and help make sure a lot of people have a good time, then we would like to work with you!

pm, email, or call, we can set the days that you will be working, and you can have the other days free to ride and demo.

thanks nw kiters, you are the best kite community out there, so thats why i'm asking you! hope to see many of you here, its going to be a super fun, hot, windy (hopefully) week!

It looks like about a week of southern waves and warm weather. Come on down! This one was an early sesh of Paul coming by before the waves and wind got bigger this afternoon.
