Wed Aug 26, 09 1:10 pm Video: Land Kiting at 68.9 MPH |
|
|
So this is an annual trip we make to this 50 sq mile dry lake.
It's insane, I've been measured close to 70mph on my buggy. Of course nothing is as it seems, it's not fun, it's super fn scary. My goal, is 100MPH.
It's a short vid....

You look like G-man padded up for a longboarding session. I don't want to even think about the crashes. Way to push it Eli |

| For years Eli has been trading land kite speed records with a select few riders. Tear it up Eli! |

wipe outs: once in a while you get a little bloody, fingers, ankles, shoes never make it long. I've been lucky only to pop a tire or two.
I've seen a few bad scenes, I try to push those out of my head. The Karts are pretty safe. If you're quick you can release the kite before it gets really bad.
I'm hittin easter oregon desert in october once the southerlies fill in the desert.
Next April is the NABX, pretty awesome spot to go fast. Last year my buddy from Holland went 77 MPH...
But the 5 mile long run isn't long enough anymore.
Oregon has a 12 mile run that's epic.
I'm Trying to bring the record home to Oregon this winter and spring. It doesn't belong any where else.
And I'm hoping I've got my NwKite hoody on when I do it.
I'm dropped 2 spots this year. Now I'm the 4th fastest kiter in the world...damn!
