That's no lie. We already had to warn him about specking out when the wind is picking up.

Here's a new pic from today.

Specking out is getting so high that you just look like a speck when people look up at you.

He wasn't really close to specking out today, but he was pretty high up and far back over Ecola for the conditions that were coming. It was just starting to pick up and cap on the water. You don't want to lose the ability to penetrate the wind speed at a site like Ecola!

Read the Oregonian article that follows the tree self-rescue lesson at this URL. Its about a doctor who was flying at Ecola who decided to keep flying despite bad conditions. He ended up spending the night stuck 165' up in a tree in a nasty storm:

It depends on where I'm flying. If I'm flying at any of the dunes or coastal ridges, nope. If I'm flying somewhere like Ecola, then I keep a tree kit with me. The best thing to do is stay the hell out of the trees though!

Ah, hey Eli, thanks. Here's a pic of you from yesterday.

The whole set in a larger format is here: http://picasaweb.google.com/JustCaws

It's the album in the top left corner.

Way to go kelton P-2 is an accomplishment and now its all up to you. Watch out for intermidate syndrome pain is a bitch in paragliding. excitement and determination can cloud your judgement although your instructors have been through that with you be sure to remember when to fly and when to wish you were flying.

Good luck
