Eli, you ever paraglided in France or seen the Coupe Icarre? If not, you gotta go experience Annecy, Chamonoix, Miussey, Les Indianes, St. Hilare and a bunch of other killer flying spots there! _________________ Marina

Chris Muller, 1976-2005.
Canadian pilot (PG/HG/PPG) Chris Muller died on Friday 22nd, after crashing with his hanglider on landing at the Flytec Championship 2005, in Quest Air, Florida (USA). He was attempting to grab a bag with money prize at the finish line but, according to Oz Report, he hit the cone with his base tube and immediately skidded into the ground. He was wearing an open face helmet. An experienced and versatile pilot who started flying at the age of 11, three times Canadian Paraglider champion and three times Hanglider champion, Muller was very well-known in his home country where he ran one of the oldest flying schools -founded by his parents. As a talented acro pilot, he was also a member of the US “Red Bull Air Force” team. His sudden leave is a big loss for the world of flight. [23/04/2005] _________________ Livin' in da' Hood

another bit I found interesting is how his Dad passes...almost the same way, while hangliding. But despite his loss, Chris kept charging. And if you had a chance to rub elbows with him, he'd totally rub off on you, I can still feel the vibes, THE last night I hung out with him was in J-hole, chasta, rob, brian, heather, Ranyon, and I were along side of the road on a short drop into a small kicker under a moon lit clear sky, having some "yeah" germeister...we were spinning off a kicker, and he comes in with front and back flips like they were nothing, chasta didn't like the jump, it was too small, so he DJ'd the sesh...
I look at this situation with mega respect...on one hand I don't want to miss a session, surfing/paragliding/kiting/downhilling...becuase I never know when my time will come...and I don't like missing out...
on the other hand...I don't want to put anyone in a situation to have to deal with the loss and the emotional havok put on someone who experiences an accident like his....
so I'm in between...these events help me respect life and learn how to find my limits and adjust them...
I know, mushy shite....but the ones I've lost were truley passionate about these sports, makes me want to explore the limits even more to find what I haven't yet.
