There is probably a couple of more weeks before the wind clocks around to onshore. At that time my wife and I will be going to Koh Phangan for another windy season there lasting into March (along with quite a few of the kiters here). Unfortunately the average wind speed there is 12-15 knots with the occasional day of around 20 knots. It is also very flat and shallow there, but what the heck. Wind and kiting in Paradise, who can complain.
Stay tuned for further updates. |

The season starts at Thung Wua Laen after the Northeast Monsoon Rains Stop. This year it was November 10th. It ended on January 19th. Great spot with side on conditions with meter+ waves on the bigger days. Very little chop and big rolling swells outside. Great Thai food, good weather (temps in the low to mid 80's), warm water.....what more could you want (except cheaper airfare)? asiatraveler@gmail.com
