Sat Sep 06, 08 8:48 am A big thanks from a beginner! |

I just wanted to thank everyone who has helped Jenny and myself out over the last couple of weeks as we've tried to learn to Kiteboard. Thanks for all the info, tips, and efforts. Also, a huge thanks to the guy who pulled me out of the middle of the river last night at Sauvies, with little wind.
For those who witnessed, I was able to retrieve my kite on the other side of the river. It had just washed up on shore - no damage! However, I wasn't able to retrieve my board. If anyone comes across a LF Proof 151 with a red "OutdoorPlay" sticker on it, please drop me a line.
Thanks,
Joel |

Hi Joel,
I was the other guy who got stuck over there.
You've reminded me that I should write my name and phone number on my stuff. I was getting really close to having to let my kite go bye-bye, and I haven't IDed it yet.
Good to see you're O.K.
My wife was pleased to meet your wonderful better half last night at SI. She enjoyed chatting with her.
This season is winding down, but hope to see you guys next year. _________________ (>====<|> ---< |

Joel,
good to see that you made it back ok. We were standing on the beach saying "see that little red and white dot over there, he's probably collecting firewood for the night"
In the future, always remember that self rescuing with your kite is an option in that situation. take off the lines, fold the kite in half and begin the slow float back. You would be surprised at how a little wind can propel you in self rescue mode.
Have fun out there and b safe, all of us have been there in one form or another.

hey joel. good to hear you made it back ok. i grabbed your board out there and stuck it in the sand near the tall piling not far from where you landed on the beach. i passed your wife/gf walking back and told her that i had rescued it. if you didnt get it, somebody must have.
