We're stoked to let the local NW Kite crew know about our new addition of Liquid Force Teamrider Nate (aka Natedogg) to the 2nd Wind Sports staff crew.

Nate will be starting at the shop on Monday to get into the swing of things and then after Labor Day Weekend, heading down south with the rest of the Slider Project crew for the Annual Floras Lake Wakestyle Takeover.

In addition to beefing up our kite staff and shop product knowledge, Nate will be a great addition to our winter snowboard and ski departments.

We'll make sure to stuff Nate's truck with some new 2009 Liquid Force Havoc kite demos for riders to try out during the Wakestyle Takeover, so keep an eye out for Nate if you want to try out any of the 2009 kites.

Welcome aboard Nate, we're super stoked to have you as part of our shop crew!!

Pepi, Erica and the 2nd Wind Sports Crew

Thanks everyone! Definitely feeling the love back home in the NW...

I'm really excited to be on the crew at 2nd Wind...we've got a ton of stuff coming down the pipe to close out the '08 season and some big plans for '09, so it looks like it's just gonna have to get better and better for the NW crew

It definitely helps to ride finless. There's a few different variations I guess, but the butter press I do the most is done from toeside, which means you need to be pretty powered. Hop to toeside, lunge way back over the tail and simultaneously pull up with your outstretched lead leg.

It can be done in straps (I think...never tried) but boots definitely help. In order to do it a long ways, you need to edge a bit against the kite, so when done right the nose of the board is pointed more towards the kite, with your toes pointing in the direction of travel. Give it a go...it's not nearly as hard as I'm probably making it sound.

Like Pepi said, I'll be hitting Floras Lake following Labor Day weekend with a ton of LF gear, including my Mission 144 with Escalade Boots... if anyone is considering taking up residence on the dark side (or maybe just taking a visit) my board will definitely be available. Hope to see everyone there! Twisted Evil

Super stoked to see NateDogg as I dropped by 2nd Wind today (demoed one of those nifty Nobile skims, sick!) Nate is probably one of the most experienced guys out there, both as an instructor and retailer. He's worked a lot of places: ASI, Gorge Performance, REAL, Windance, and now 2nd Wind.

Anyway congrats Nate, and Henry and I came up with a fitting title for ya.

Thanks Nate!! I've wanted to do that ever since I saw you do it at BOTG. I've tried, but no success yet. Hopefully your tips will help. Very Happy
