Great afternoon at Arlington yesterday.
Lots of 4 and 5m kites out (and didn't see a single kiter on a foil).
It's nice to know the kids haven't all switched to winging, and they can still boost.
I felt like I was watching the A-Town Throwdown contest in the conditions it always deserved.
Hopefully someone can post some pics (or video).

Those readings look heavy! Sounds like yesterday was more Gnarlington than Arlington.

How big was the swell?

The swell was a bit choppy at first but then cleaned up into the monster chest to overhead rollers that make Arlington worth the drive.
Interestingly, there were reports of good swell in the Rufus/Wall stretch also - in spite of the 300Kcfs dam discharge. When the current is that strong, I usually don't even bother stopping at Rufus to check.

It was about as good as it gets. It was a bit choppy to the west but very glassy down by the silos with massive rollers.

There were some 'kids' out throwing down....I almost became a landing pad once or twice Very Happy (I suspect they may have something captured on film).

It had been a bit since I had kited A-town. It was worth the drive. Even at today's gas prices...

It was fun watching the kids ride too. Saw some great moves. Lotsa talent in them youngins.

and by "kids" I mean anyone under 30.
It seems all the kiters over 50 have switched to winging.

The high water is also creating great Swells for the groms boosting at the Hatchery.
