This year's Blowout race was held on Saturday August 11th with light winds and cloudy conditions in Stevenson, gusty winds in the corridor and average winds in Hood River. 42 riders took on the challenging conditions and for the first time in Blowout history, all 42 riders made it to the finish line!

Fred Hope with a time of 45:23 came narrowly close to beating Cory Roeseler's record time of 44:58 set in 2008 (probably on water skis). That year was a high wind year with over 80 competitors. Fred attacked this year's course on a foil board in extrmely light wind conditions.

Congrats to Fred and all who particiapted and huge thanks to all of our Sponsors.

Great job! In these bad wind conditions the top guys still pushed record times. All competitors finished also. It seems to me these two impressive accomplishments are due to: -equipment is getting better and better, and - skill level of kiters overall is improving over the years.
