Hi all
Taking a familyroad trip up to Friday Harbor in mid july from SF bay area. Looking for good kite stops along the way. We have two little ones so any fun kid friendly locations would be ideal!

Read on post from 2016 that the wind is pretty up and down in San Juan Island area and launching is tricky.
ANY feedback or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Very Happy

Oregon - south to north along the coast.
Oregon beaches can be family friendly in the morning before the wind comes up - once the wind is up you'll need an RV for the family to hang out in. Small beach towns are cool but little kids will bore easily. Bring puffy jackets.
The beaches with ** have adjacent camping at Oregon state parks.

I wouldn't skip Pacific City, even though it's not really an amazing place to kite. You can kite on the North side of Cape Kiwanda and can drive right on to the beach but that will probably suck for the fam. Even though the wind is better on the North side if you walk 10 min South on the beach you can kite there. You might have more fun just surfing there though.

The kids will enjoy climbing Cape Kiwanda and it offers a nice wind shadow to make the beach much more tolerable. On top of that you are only 50 ft away from shops, cafes, pubs.
