Hey all! Im new to snow kiting, not new to kiting. Where are the good spots around portland to snow kite and what sort of conditions do you look for? I'd love to join up with a group of people heading out to have people to compare notes with.

Stephen:
Try the search function on this website above; it works wonders. Lots of similar posts mirroring your inquiry. While some snowkiting can be done around these parts, it usually takes a snowmobile or snowbike or lots of skinning into an area.
Timberline just shutdown their resort to any kiting equipment or access from their land to go snowkiting--that was/is your best bet and SW to W wind works well there on the terrain outside of Timberline's leased area.
There are a few locales to hit around Mt. Hood, but the moons need to be aligned for winds and whatnot. Same with a few others spots here-and-there around the State.
But you're better off just hitting Camas Prairie over in Idaho or going to Utah (Montana works too as well as a few other snowy Western states).
