Yo Kite Crew!

We're heading to Nassau Bahamas in May. Anyone been there that time of year?

Mark B., think I remembered you kited there a while back??

Wind, waves, things to see favorite spots to eat, drink, Etc.?

We were there 10+ years ago. Only had a 3m trainer kite.. got my first four line kite later that year... Rolling Eyes

Thx, Onad

Hopefully these will be of some help:

http://www.welovetokite.com/destinations/new-providence/#h_wind_weather_waves
http://fksa.org/showthread.php?t=4147

The second site probably has additional info. Have fun and my two cents: take the ferry to Spanish Wells if the weather cooperates and go see the "real Bahamas". The is some info on Spanish Well in one of those links with a suggestion to go.

Cheers

Yeah kited at Atlantis about 10 years ago. During our trip the wind was very light. I think that's the norm. I was lucky enough to kite during a storm front. Big shorebreak but if you walk the property there is a man made rip rap that offered flat water on the inside and a nice wave break. Not sure if they will let you on the property unless you are staying there. All in all, a FUN waterpark. Your kids will LOVE it. I would not bother with kites again. But if you do, bring a 9 (in case of storm) and your largest kite. Or better yet a FOIL.

By far the best waterpark I have ever been to. Call for more info. Ps, Dive with Stuart Coves. They have a fun shark dive

what the rowsign said - if you can escape tourist nightmare and hit Abacos or Exumas you will be rewarded

but if you can hop a fence, bribe, steal a pass this beach in front of Atlantis was sick (was there before they built the mega-hotel - might be patrolled by shotgun...)

Dan, The above pic is what I am talking about. Nice flat water on inside, waves on outside. But you will need a pass or be fleet of foot.

here is a good guide:
https://kitesurfingmag.com/florida-keys-kiteboarding-islamorada-marathon/

I have had fun at Curry Hammock, Anne's, Bahia Honda (all very pretty)

one sketchy recovery before getting flushed at Whale Cove
