Sweet pics! Is there an optimal ski length or same skis you would use for regular slopes?

Excellent shot at Laurence Lake!!! Always wanted to nail it there, but didn't know of any winds that would make it into the valley in the winter. Way to nail it!

RE: Skis
I am not really an expert with recommending snowkite specific skis, but here is what we have learned at our shop.
What customers like - Seems like we have customers that like everything from stiff GS race skis or short stiff skis for the hardpack to some that like super phat tongue depressor powder skis for planing over the deep stuff. What is your terrain like and what are you most comfortable on?

What we like - Basically, what we ride most. I use my Atomic Bent Chetlers with Fritschi Rando bindings, as these are my 'go to' ski in the backcountry and the ones I have the most mileage on and least concern damaging. These are fairly fat, rockered skis, but they keep me moving the smoothest over bumps and deep stuff, and are very forgiving in the transitions and landings.
Rando bindings do allow me to skin into areas that otherwise would require a sled or painful boot packing in to.

Ken Lucas, Brad Gordon, Matty Thames and Aaron Sales are persons whom I would consider snowkite legends with considerable knowledge in these matters as well.
Any comments or posts that they submit should be read and respected.

Looks like fun, Pepi! Any chance you could reveal that location? I've been kiting on the water for a few years but really want to try the snow. Looks like that could a friendly spot to learn.

Thanks!

The Utah license plate says "Greatest Snow on Earth". At least 10 Event Site regulars have been out at Strawberry recently.

Who captured God on a gopro? and at the Illumination Cathedral?? I in awe. Forgive the blasphemy and accept the worship???

What size kites? Wind direction?

Route: Thumb it from Govy to MHM to drop White River Canyon, kite up-canyon above Palmer, to Illumination, then Glade Trail to the car. Who's in?

Rode with the crew at Shipwrecks Saturday. 30mph and 11m, boosting over that 17' swell. (no) but megafun.

That is my 6m on Illumination Rock. It was blowing SE 30 plus at the top and NE 10 at the bottom of Illumination slope. It is the game on with 40 degree pitch in a no-mistake zone.

STZZ, good route for an adventure. I have done the reverse dropping into White River Canyon from T-Line and using the prevailing winds and slightly gentler slopes on the east wall to kite up and across the top of Super Bowl to the Newton Clark Icefall. The Kiteboarder Mag ran photos and article about 15 years ago. Time flies when you are having fun.

Meadows put in an access trail to allow dropping into the WRC to access the sweet snowkite zone in the Canyon. When done kiting, ski out the Canyon and hitchhike back to the Meadows lot. It's a great mountain adventure.

There are a lot of options on Hood.

Have FUN.
