I am just learning to kiteboard, and I am able to ride and stay upwind some of the time. I have been using my friend's board, but have bought a Defender and rode it once. It seemed to be too squirly for me at this stage, so I was thinking about exchanging it for a 155 Sumo to feel more confident and stay on the water longer. Any ideas to this, or should I just keep riding the Defender and get used to it. I just want to be able to learn as fast as possible, so I can spend more time riding and less time sinking back into the water.

Not familiar with either board, who are they made by? what year are they?

Boards have really come a long way in the last couple of years, having a good board is more important than your kite IMO.
