hi.

I recently moved to Portland from Rhode Island. Sadly since my move a few weeks ago I haven't gotten much kiting in and have yet to make it to HR. The move, wife and my little kids have kept me close to home.

I am going to be doing the Roy Webster swim ( http://hoodriver.org/events-festivals/chamber-events/cross-channel-swim ) on Monday (Labor Day) morning and since it's so early no one wants to come to HR with me!!! So I figured since I haven't gotten a chance to kite in HR yet I would hang out for the day and see what the wind does.

I figured I would post up on here and see if anyone is going to be swimming and wants to connect to kite after. FYI: Been kiting for about 6 years so I'm not a newb.

Steve

p.s. I think the swim is full but they do take same day registrations if people no show if anyone is interested.

p.s.s. I posted originally in the classifieds and didn't want anyone to think it was a backpage kinda solicitation so moving it...

FYI. If it's good kiting weather they may cancel the swim because of the choppy water conditions. Good luck, bring all your gear and have fun.

LilRohdy,

I rarely kite in HR, however I believe nobody is responding to you because you really don't need a kite buddy there. Just show up at the beach and you can make friends easily. Lots of kiters around if the winds blowing.

Basic rules / guidelines for the area can be found here:
